The Matte Yehuda Regional Council contains a spectacular and diverse human mosaic, which affords an opportunity for developing the region through a process of enlarging our communities, which is currently underway. 

Our geographical location in the center of Israel serves as magnetic force enabling us to define goals and objectives and ways of fulfilling them, with special emphasis on preserving the green texture of our region, principally through development that upholds environmental values. 

The Land of Matte Yehuda is home to some 37 thousand permanent residents and thousands of hikers and visitors. As employees and elected officials of the Council, we are committed to doing our utmost to preserving this wonderful region. This means being concerned about its development while ensuring a high quality, professional and respected system of services, with an emphasis on the motto: "the resident is the client". This viewpoint determines our management methods, the transition process which Matte Yehuda is currently undergoing, and will continue to undergo in the future, in many aspects. This reality places before us the unique and fascinating challenge of creating a region that will constitute a focal point and center in the general perception of the expanse. 

As a municipal authority we have defined the goal of preserving the rural landscape and developing unique and high quality tourism, of creating a leading educational and cultural system, together with developing and strengthening the local and regional community. 

I am certain that with joint forces, and through dialogue between the residents and the municipality, we will attain this goal.
